Inclusivity, Diversity, and Equity in Action (IDEA) Toolkit

At Curavit Clinical Research, we are committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion across all aspects of our business. We believe that diverse perspectives and experiences are essential to driving innovation and excellence in scientific research and for achieving greater equity in healthcare.

Not only do we “talk the talk,” we also “walk the walk” when it comes to ensuring diversity in our trials. Curavit’s IDEA initiative is a new, step-by-step comprehensive toolkit informed by FDA guidelines to optimize enrollment and retention of a diverse patient population from the very start of each trial.

Across all therapeutic areas, we do the research to discover:

  • Who we need
    • Compile relevant demographic information broken down by gender identity, race and ethnicity, geographic location, and socioeconomic status
    • Place special focus on populations that may disproportionately suffer from the condition or that are historically underrepresented in clinical research
  •  What stands in our way
    • Investigate potential barriers to entry to determine the best recruitment and retention strategies for the patient populations we want to reach
    • Evaluate study protocol and materials with a culturally competent perspective to maximize participants’ agency and minimize attrition throughout the life of the study
  • How we succeed
    • Work with the client to set enrollment goals and determine the best course of action for recruitment
    • Create an interactive dashboard displaying key data about the patient populations that have been enrolled in your trial. Examples shown below:
